| | | | | | From Srila Prabhupada: We should take the position of Arjuna, disciple. When a disciple is serious about making, about making a solution of the suffering, then he requires a spiritual master. And what sort of spiritual master? Krsna, the most perfect man, the most perfect man. So a spiritual master is representative of Krsna. Of course, Krsna is not present before us. But at least we must have a person as our spiritual master who represents Krsna. And who can represent Krsna? One who is devotee of Krsna, in the line, disciplic succession -- "Part 1 - The Unavoidable Battle," March 2, 1966, New York, Bhagavad Gita 2.7-11 Read and hear the entire lecture |
| | | | | Incarnations of Krishna by Bhakti Charu Swami Another incarnation of Krishna in the form of sound, that is Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. So when you chant, this is Krishna Himself. If it is difficult to understand that this maha-mantra, this sound vibration is Krishna, then at least you can consider that Krishna instructed us to chant Hare Krishna in this age. Krishna came as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Krishna instructed us to chant the Holy Name. It is also the instructions of the scriptures : "Harer Nama, Harer Nama, Harer Nama Eva Kevalam Kalau Nasty Eva Nasty Eva Nasty Eva Gatir Anyatha" So, these instructions are there in the scriptures. So, that means Krishna is instructing us to chant the Holy Name. So, when Krishna sees that you are chanting the Holy Name, how will Krishna feel ? Won't He be pleased ? So, that is the benefit of chanting Hare Krishna. Krishna is seeing that you are chanting and is Krishna omnipresent? Is Krishna present everywhere ? So, although you are chanting in this room, Krishna is seeing you? And when Krishna is seeing that you are chanting, He will be pleased. So, please chant Hare Krishna with full faith. That this is the yuga-dharma. This is the way to receive Krishna's mercy. This is the way to make spiritual advancement. So please chant the Hare Krishna mantra and become a very good devotee, Read the entire lecture |

Reduce to a simmer and cook until they become soft. Strain through a colander. Put the lentils aside. Meanwhile, boil the cubed potatoes in water until they become soft. Drain and mash them until smooth. Add butter or olive oil, milk, salt, pepper and rosemary and mix well. Heat olive oil in a pan. When hot add ginger, sauté for 1 minute. Add black pepper, asafoetida, and sauté momentarily. Add the celery, stir well, and cook until soft. Then add grated zucchini, coriander and cumin powder. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add diced tomatoes and basil leaves and cook for a further 1-2 minutes. Add in cooked, strained brown lentils and salt and stir through. Remove from heat. Spread this pie filling evenly into the bottom of an oven-proof baking dish. Cover with the mashed potatoes, evenly layered over the top. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 300 degrees until the top is browned. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot. Another tasty option is to sprinkle grated cheese over the top of pie before baking or covering the top with thin cut tomato rings. | Contact Information | Main Temple phone: 214-827-6330, Congregation Services: 214-827-6330 x 216 Email for general questions and information To schedule a tour, home or school program: Nityananda Chandra 214-669-3369, or email him To place an item in next week's bulletin, please send it by Monday each week |
