From Srila Prabhupada:   Krsna has many names. Krsna has name Govinda. It is not three letters. It is more than that. Krsna has so many thousands names. Advaitam acyutam anadim ananta. So therefore Krsna advises for the beginners, "Just try to remember Me in this way-raso 'ham apsu kaunteya [Bg. 7.8] -- I am the taste of the water." The water you must be drinking twice, thrice, four times. So when you drink water, the taste satisfies your thirst. So if you simply remember, "This taste is Krsna," that is Krsna conscious. -- "Aum and Hare Krishna," September 29th, 1976

Finding My Perfect Master
A Talk by Giriraj Swami
August 30th, 2010, Khazakstan

"I had read that you don't actually choose your guru but that your guru is already there - you just have to find him. I even had a vague mental impression of what my guru looked like, and he didn't have hair - unlike all the other gurus and swamis from India I had seen. So I didn't know what to do. After some time I saw posters at my university campus which announced, "Lecture on Bhagavad Gita As It Is - Swami A. C. Bhaktivedanta." I was losing hope of finding my perfect master, but I took note of the lecture. . . .

My friend said, "Why can't you be like other people? Why do you have to go running after all these swamis and yogis all the time?" I was so desperate I said, "All right, this will be the last swami I ever go to!"

Appreciating Kalachandji's Community

Kunjabihari
I am very very thankful to the community, devotees and congregation for supporting me and my family over the past 8 years.  Special thanks to His Holiness Giriraj Swami, Nityananda Prabhu and Mother Manjuali for letting me stay in the community and engaging me in Krishna's devotional service.

I beg for forgiveness for any offenses commited by us. Vaishnavas are very merciful and hope they will give me blessings to continue my devotional service at the Lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha and Krishna.

Many, many thanks to Dwaraka Prabhu and Mother Chitra for helping us with counselling and also for financially helping us in our most difficult times during our 8 years of stay and service

your humble servants,
Kunjabihari dasa, Kunjeshwari devi dasi and Family

Amy- I met you last year! I was in Dr. Sander's class and I already had the book that you brought. I got it at Warped Tour in 09!

Tierre- (joking at one of the students response) "monk: wut do u get from cow milk? curtis: milk and eggs...shaking my head curtis. shaking my head"

Bailea-  "I Really Enjoyed Hearing About Y'alls Religion. :)" & "So You Know, Today Was Pretty Great. Got To Met A Hindu Monk And Preist Who Were REALLY Cool, Cried In English (class) Though. But, Yeah It Was Pretty Awesome Day."

Jordan- awesome Monks we got to meet

Kenzy-  it was really cool hearing about you guys :)

In the evening, about 35 students from TCU came to the temple.  Here is one of the comments:

Joni- Hinduism is so interesting. I'm amazed at how little I knew about it. There is so much universal truth to it that I've always believed in myself! It's surprising sometimes what you can realize when you open your mind to learning.

Vegetarian Chili

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 hot green chilies, seeded and minced
1/4 teaspoon yellow asafoetida powder
1/2 cup diced green peppers
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup cooked corn pieces
3 cups tomatoes, blanched, peeled and chopped
3/4 cup tomato paste
3 cups cooked kidney beans (reserve the bean liquid separately)
1 cup crumbled curd cheese or frozen tofu that's been thawed and crumbled
  or chunks of fried tempe
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Heat the oil in a heavy 3-quart saucepan over moderate heat. When the oil is hot, add the minced green chili and saute for 1 minute. Add the asafoetida powder and saute momentarily. Add the diced peppers and celery. Saute, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until the vegetables soften. Add the cooked corn and the chopped tomato and cook, stirring occasionally, for another 10 minutes. Add all the remaining ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the chili is too thick, add some reserved bean liquid. Serve hot over rice or with bread.
