From Srila Prabhupada -- "So as soon as you engage yourself in pure devotional service without any material desire, without any material designation, immediately you are liberated. Svarupena avasthiti. That is real situation of our constitutional position. So long we are not engaged in Krsna's service, that is our opposite number of life, not real life. Real life is when you are fully engaged in Krsna consciousness, always engaged. That is life. Sravanam kirtanam. So to be fixed up in that spiritual life we should always engage ourself, sravanam kirtanam. Sravanam kirtanam of whom? Visnu. Of Krsna or Visnu. Even not of any other demigods, what to speak of ordinary beings. We are engaged in sravanam kirtana from the morning. We newspaper and we read what the politician says, what so many nonsense things. We waste our time. Srama eva hi kevalam [SB 1.2.8]. We should increase our taste for hearing and chanting about Visnu, Krsna. That engagement you have fully in the Srimad-Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita. -- "Hear from a Real Devotee," Srimad-Bhagavatam 7.5.23, Vrndavana, March 31, 1976 | |

The response from the students at this prestigious school was as usual very enthusiastic. The teacher so far has brought his students to 2 Govardhana Puja festivals, 1 Rama Navami and now 1 Gaura Purnima festival. All students at the school say that their favorite field trip is the temple and their favorite guest speakers are the Hare Krishnas." -- Nityananda Chandra | Appreciating Kalachandji Dhama Written to Dwaraka and Chitra from a devotee who recently rented the hall upstairs for an event "I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You both are two very special people who were willing to do anything to help make my grand children's Upanayanam a memorable event for us all.
Also I would like to express my sincere thanks to Priest Nityananda Chandra for making sure that every one understood our Hindu ritual and why this ceremony was so important and for also being so graceful and patient. I also appreciate his wife Krishna Mangala's efforts in making sure the reception hall was meticulously decorated.
Additionally, I want to thank Jayantiji for making a beautiful fruit cake that everyone could not stop talking about, especially when I told them it was vegan. Last but not least, please give my sincerest gratitude to all the devotees who helped serve our guests the delicious food. There are no words to thank everyone enough. It was truly a blessed day and it will always be memorable for everyone involved. This was my second time to have a ceremony at Kalachandji's and I truly recommend the Temple, hall and restaurant to anyone that would like to have the wonderful experience. Thank you all again." --Sushila Shrestha | Japa Retreats in Texas - June In June, Bhagavat Life will be offering Japa Retreats Levels 1 & 2 near Montgomery, Texas (about 3 hours south of Dallas).
