Kalachandji Katha 1-5-10

Wednesday, January 6th through Tuesday, January 12th 2010

From Srila Prabhupada:
Actually we love Krsna. That is the fact. But we have forgotten it. We are under illusion. Just you analyze yourself. Why we love this body? It is very easy to understand. Because the soul is there. Does anybody love a dead body?..Nobody cares... So the body is not a lovable object. But because the soul is there within the body, therefore we love this body. This house, if it is vacant, nobody will come. But because there is Krsna or because there are devotees of Krsna, so many people come.-- "Everyone Of Us Loves Krishna," Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.16.16, Los Angeles, January 11, 1974

Sunday, January 10th:  Sat-tila Ekadasi
Fast from grains and beans.  Break the fast the following morning between 7:30 - 10:53.
Sunday, January 10th:  Community Garden Clean-up
This Sunday we would like to get as many volunteers as we can for continuing work on the Community Garden. If we have about 10 volunteers, then we can get mostly everything done (cleaning, removing rocks, spreading leaves, tilling and fertilizing) in one day. There is a lot already done, including cleaning and getting plumbing, removing some rocks, cutting shrubs etc.  This is a great opportunity to also INVITE FRIENDS to participate.

We will start after breakfast at the temple at about 10.00 in the morning.
Everyone is requested to be at the temple by 9.30am, or at 8.30am, in case you would like to also have breakfast at the temple (RSVP appreciated) .

We will continue as long as we finish, or sunset. Lunch will be provided also for RSVPs. This is a great time to also have fun, and prepare for a wonderful community garden for spring. We hope you can all make it.

Please RSVP by sending Rasaraj an email before Friday at 5.00 pm so there will be a count for breakfast and lunch and also an estimate on how many person-hours we can count on.
Wednesday, January 13th - Sunday, January 16th:  North American GBC/Temple President's Meeting

A community effort is needed to ensure the meetings are a success.  There are many different services available, some of which can be done at home, or only require a few hours of time.  Following is a short list of possible services (more are available).  If you are interested helping out in any way, please reply to this email and it will get passed on to the devotee in charge of each service:
