Break the fast the following morning between 7:29 - 10:49. | Food for Life 2009 Food for Life program distributes free healthy vegetarian meals to needy communities in the DFW Metroplex. In 2009, Food for Life program these meals to the patients and staff of several Dallas-based Metrocare facilities. Metrocare is a non-profit organization which serves low-income mentally ill persons Facilities Served: 1. The Altschuler Clinic on Samuell Blvd in Dallas 2. Clinic at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center near Fair Park. Highlights of 2009: * Served an average of 100 meals perweek * Served an average of 40 to-go containers each week * Several patients bring their own-to go containers to take food for their families * Steadily increased meal distribution from 30 plates to well over 100 plates per week * Expanded to feed the other social service offices within the facility * Policemen and other workers at the facilities are favorable to our program Expansion 2010 Starting January 2010, we will start to distribute prasadam once a week to another Metrocare location in Garland. This facility helps transition homeless persons by giving them an apartment and vocational training We are hoping that this expansion is one of many for the upcoming year, as it is It is easy to make friends with prasadam!
