From Srila Prabhupada:
When people forget or become engaged otherwise, rascaldom, duskrtinah, at that time He comes. He comes Himself or sends His representative to make this rascal know that "Here is Krsna." Tadatmanam srjamy aham. In the form of name, in the form of Deity, in the form of picture, in the, so many ways. If you think of Krsna within yourself, that "Krsna is like this, Krsna's leg is like this, Krsna's flute is like this, Krsna's hand is like this, mouth is like this, He is dressed like this," this meditation is perfect meditation. Extrasensorial experiences?
Q.
Hello I am totally new to all this sacred belief
I only got to know it today, but I do have a question to ask you please. All my life I could feel and see with open eyes objects forming in ether state in my hands, Its like they were trying to form into reality .

Since I was 4 years old I used to get messages from above and feel connected to the stars, all of my life I have a repeated dream that I run a bit, bend my knees and levitate, I dream of it almost every night for years, I am 29 now .

I also can see the air movement if I decide to get into this kind of state of mind, And I always manifest what I wish for, except money ,I can't manifest money I only manifest it in the form of food (suddenly everybody have spare food to give me.) Animals especially birds feel very close to me and we seem to communicate on a mind level. BUT every time I try to carry away with it, to get to a feeling of fulfillment, of the basic and of pure soul, I suddenly get anxieties, those anxieties are very active in my conscious mind, and stop me with false fears every time I try to get closer to my divine side, but it seems like the door to my animalistic fighting darker side is always open and trying to lure me in, and I NEVER go there, never !
I sometimes feel like cursed because from one side I have this strange natural knowledge of manifesting and channeling ,and from the other side i have this dark part inside that is being ignored by me, and its sending my conscious mind anxieties endlessly .

Why is it? What am I experiencing?
Blessed be
STARDOM

A. Hare Krishna.
I have read your email.

It is not possible for me to determine what is that you are experiencing because I do not know you personally. It can be thousands things but I can't tell what is it in your specific case.

Everyone of us has the innate propensity for spirituality. Material life is actually a state of death. Life is actually spiritual. Only spirit has life. Matter is dead. So if we live as we were the material body we live in and we persue material objects, the real feeling we get is a feeling of internel death. It is actualy worst than death, it is a state more similar to a state of living death.

As a result we try anything to give a meaning to life. Some chase wealth, others beauty, other mysticism.

All of this is useless because false.

Real life is life of spirit, realizing our spiritual nature. To accomplish this most cherishable end it is necessary a guide. Some who teaches is called master; the one who teaches the science of spirit is called spiritual master.
Therefore you should sincerily desire to find a bonafide spiritual master to learn the truth.

Continue to come to isvara.org and if you want to correspond with me. ______________________

Relativity and Knowledge

PRABHUPADA:

All living entities possess the required intelligence to execute four principles: eating, sleeping, sexual intercourse and defense. These four principles exist even in the atom. The only difference in the human being is that he has the extra intelligence with which to understand God. This is the difference. Ahara-nidra-bhaya-maithunam cha samanam etat pashubhir naranam. Eating, sleeping, sex life and defense are to be found everywhere. You have seen trees growing. Wherever there is a knot, the bark does not go this way; it goes that way. [Srila Prabhupada gestures to show that a tree's bark grows not over a knot, but around it.] The tree has intelligence: "If I go this way, I will be blocked, so I will go that way." But where are its eyes? How can it see? It has intelligence. That intelligence may not be as good as yours, but it is intelligence. Similarly, a child also has intelligence, though not as developed as his father's. In due course of time, when the child gets a body like that of his father, the child's intelligence will be fully developed and exhibited.

DR. SINGH:

Then intelligence is relative.

PRABHUPADA:

Yes. Everything is relative. You have your body, your duration of life, and your intelligence, and the ant has his. Both we and the ant live for one hundred years, but the length of our hundred-year life-span is relative to our bodies. Even Brahma, the longest-living entity in this universe, lives for one hundred years. To us the ant's life-span may seem only a few days. In the same way, on other planets with atmospheres different from the earth's, there are life-forms suited to those conditions. But the scientists try to view everything according to the relative conditions of planet earth. This is nonsense. Why are they doing that? If the whole cosmic manifestation follows the law of relativity, how can the scientist say that the conditions of this planet must apply to life on other planets? The Vedas instruct us that knowledge must always be considered in terms of desha-kala-patra. Deshameans "circumstances," kala means "time," and patra means "the object." We must understand everything by taking these three elements into consideration. For example, a fish is living very comfortably in the water, and we are shivering on the shore of the sea. This is because my desha-kala-patra and the fish's desha-kala-patraare different. But if we conclude that the sea gulls will also shiver in the water, that is nonsense; their desha-kala-patra is again different. There are 8,400,000 different species of life in the material cosmic manifestation, and each species must adjust to circumstances differently. Even on this planet, you cannot go live comfortably in Alaska, although it is America. Similarly, the living entities enjoying life in Alaska do not come here.

KARANDHAR:

Relativity, then, is based upon our individual situation.

PRABHUPADA:

Yes. Therefore it is said that what is food for one is poison for another.

BRAHMANANDA:

Because scientists cannot survive on the moon, they think no one else can.

LalitaWeekend Teachings - Nityananda Chandra das

As the days get closer and closer to Janmastami our temple and activities become busier and busier.   Last Saturday morning I performed a Nam Karan Yajna, a ceremony by which the newborn baby's name is decided.   The name chosen was Lalita Devi, the dear friend of Srimati Radharani.   The baby was born during Ekadasi last month right near the Visakha Nakshatra (Visakha is the dear friend of Lalita) and later on found out that her aunty, who is a nice devotee, also has the name Lalita.  Also the beautiful baby looked just like little Lalita in the Little Krishna cartoon.

After finishing that program I went to what I thought would have been another home program.  I was invited a few weeks ago to come and speak at a Bhagavata Saptaha that a Nepali man was organizing.  Much to my surprise there were well over 300 people at this event.  It was held at the Nepali Cultural Center in Dallas.  Entering in the building reminded me of India.  It was about 110 F outside and the building's AC was struggling.  AC water dripped from the ceiling as the hundreds of Nepalis approached the altar and vyasasana for blessings.  Even with the AC maxed out it was quite hot inside.  There was a big platform and canopy as a vyasasana and I was motioned to sit and speak.  The host asked if I could explain the essence of the Srimad Bhagavatam and its glories.   I spoke at first about so called "material qualities" of the Bhagavatam.  That there is a chapter wherein it is discussed the the smallest calculation of time based on atomic interaction.  Or that there are accurate measurements to the various planets in our solar system, or that you can find accurate descriptions of the growth of the fetus.   Then the discussion let to why the Bhagavatam was produced, the story of Vyasa's spiritual maturation and finally the goal, Bhakti.   One could see the appreciation that all the Nepali devotees had hearing Bhagavatam Katha.  We followed by inviting them to come to the Janmastami festival.   Later that evening the whole family and I attend a great lecture by His Grace Manonatha Prabhu who led a question and answers session on Veda and Vedanta and spoke about his upcoming Yoga Sutras discourse.

On Sunday morning we had another very nice program.  I was invited to speak at the Christ United Methodist Church in Plano.  A church with a membership of about 8000.  Murari Vallabh Prabhu, accompanied me on this trip to their beautiful facility.  The building must have had at least 40 class rooms.  We were invited in a room wherein sat fifty 60 year olds.  It was to be a class on Hinduism 101.  We first gave the explanation of the word Hindu and gave a basic Bhagavad Gita 101.   The class was very well received.  Many came to thank us after the class and particularly a gentleman came to me and reading his notes stated, "We are a soul in the vehicle of the body, wow this REALLY puts perspective on things."  The day was then followed by a wonderful kirtan led by Urjsvat Prabhu at the Sunday Feast.

From Srila Prabhupada:
This initiation means that you should, everyone should remember that whatever sinful activities one might have done in his past life, that is now account closed. Debit and credit closed. Now, from this day, no more sinful activities. What are those sinful activities? That is simple. We have mentioned. You should take it note. No illicit sex life. Beyond marriage, there is no sex life. No intoxication. Even drinking tea, coffee, they are also intoxication-cigarette smoking. No intoxication. No meat-eating. Simple. Only Krsna prasadam. ""Avoiding The Ten Offenses"" Los Angeles, December 19, 1968

Q. What does it  practically means to take siksa?

A.
From the most important to the most ordinary, there may be different types of relation guru-disciple. Maharaja Pariksit was instructed by Sukadeva Gosvami: being they of supreme quality as disciple and master, the flowing of siksa is of the highest quality. We have so many examples of these excellent relations in our sastras. When we have those types of gurus, our surrendering should be total, because only in that capacity we may attract the love of Krishna. The Lord does not love anyone and anything as His dearmost devotees, He loves them even more than His own life breath. Therefore if we find such a bonafide sadhu, we should completely surrender unto him and follow his precepts.
No doubt, Srila Prabhupada is our first and foremost siksa guru. To take siksha from him means to study his books and to carry out his instructions.

Also we must take siksha from many other gurus and exalted personalities, which will enliven our existence.  Taking siksha may mean to ask specific questions on ourselves, or generic questions about philosophy. That is also to take siksha; it does not need to be something to be practiced, like "you should do this and not that".  General Krishna Katha is also siksha. It is a sipping of liquid nectar coming from sastras and sadhu, starting from the heart, going through the tongue, arriving to the ear up to heart and soul. The effect is purification and happiness.

When the speaker is not so elevated, to give or to take siksha often is non-different, because one purifies himself by speaking and the other by hearing. Both are taking in their own separated capacity the mercy of the Lord and the Vaishnavas. It does not always mean that the speaker is more advanced than the hearer. The first may just be more philosophically inclined, more expert, or older. Like in our case, you ask and I answer, but both of us are disciples. We have the same spiritual master and we enjoy repeating or hearing his thoughts. This is Siksha, real life.

Answered by Manonatha Prabhu from his site www.isvara.org
The Universe in the Atom

PRABHUPADA:

All matter is a combination of five gross elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether) and three subtle elements (mind, intelligence and false ego).

KARANDHAR:

According to the Vedic science, material energy begins with the false ego and then develops into the intelligence, then the mind and then the gross elements-ether, air, fire and so on. So the same basic ingredients are present in all matter. Is this right?

PRABHUPADA:

Yes. The creation of the material universe is like the growth of a great banyan tree[3] from a tiny seed. No one can see the tree within the seed, but all the necessary ingredients for the tree are there, including the required intelligence. Actually, everyone's body is simply a sample universe. Your body and my body are different universes, small universes. Therefore, all eight material elements are present within our bodies, just as they are within the whole universe. Similarly, an insect's body is another universe.

KARANDHAR:

How about the atom?

PRABHUPADA:

The same formula applies: all these constituents are within the atom. ( 1.2.20). This means that whether something is extremely large or infinitesimal, it is still made of the same basic elements. This is true everywhere in the material world. Just as a woman's small watch has all the requisite machinery for its smooth functioning, so an ant has all the necessary brain substance to manage its affairs nicely. How is this possible? To answer this properly, you must minutely examine the brain tissues in the ant. But this you cannot do. Moreover, there are  insects smaller than the ant. So there must be a mechanical arrangement for all this detailed activity, but scientists cannot discover it.

Tulasi Kanthi - the neck beads of Krishna devotees

A few weeks ago I posted an article about Tilaka.  In this article Srila Prabhupada was quoted saying,

"I have no objection if members of the Society dress like nice American gentlemen; but in all circumstances a devotee cannot avoid tilaka, flag on head (shikha) and (tulasi) beads on the neck. These are the essential features of a Vaisnava." (SPL to Brahmananda, 14th October, 1967)

Tulsi Kanthi is on this list so I thought that I should also share some info about the kanthi, neckbeads as well. The Krishna conscious culture teaches that anyone who is an aspiring devotee of Krishna should wear Tulasi neckbeads for Tulasi is so spiritually potent.

sadā prītamanās tasya krsna devakī-nandanah |

tulasī-kāstha-sambhutām yo mālām vahate narah |

prāyaścittam na tasyāsti nāśaucam tasya vigrahe ||334||

tulasī-kāstha-sambhutām śiraso yasya bhusanam |

bāhvoh kare ca martyasya dehe tasya sadā harih ||335||

There is no need to perform atonement for a person who wears tulasī neckbeads. Factually, he does not become contaminated at any stage in his life. Śrī Hari resides in the body of a person whose neck and arms are decorated with ornament made of tulasī.
